Alright, so there's three or four of you that mention you read our blog (MB, DC, and moms). ;P
We signed with Lifetime Adoption (herein after referred to as LA) over a week ago. We received our Welcome Binder just yesterday. This binder contains information that will be very helpful to us in reaching out to families who choose to make an adoption plan for their child/ren. So what does this mean for us now? We will be contacting family to write a brief reference letter about us. This is not that much different than what some of our friends already wrote to our social worker for our home study late last year. We appreciate the prompt return on those so we can include them in our adoption profile book. Our next immediate action is to write a letter about ourselves so that a birthfamily will get a glimpse into our life and send it off to be reviewed at LA. This letter was completed last night and e-mailed. After LA has read that and sent it back to us, we continue on to create an adoption profile book. This is what a birthfamily will read to learn more about us. The letter is inserted in the book, along with pictures. This type of situation is commonly referred to as OPEN adoption since the birthfamily chooses who will be a part of the placement, and remain in contact with so the child will always know where they came from. After that, we wait.
So please pray for us. We have a tad bit of paperwork to complete and getting the profile book completed. We would like to have all of this done and at LA before Memorial Day. Please continue to pray for families making some tough choices, and that they feel confident in those choices. We must continue holding on to Him and see His will be done. Any other questions, write us!
